Topic:
Capturing the Movements of Life
Brief description:
In this workshop, participants will dive into the world of motion graphics, drawing inspiration from everyday surroundings and the broader cultural zeitgeist. By focusing on small, often overlooked moments, they will learn how the mundane can serve as a foundation for creating a unique visual toolkit for motion design. Through deconstructing daily life, participants will analyze how ordinary movements and behaviors can evolve into graphic concepts. This workshop will encourage them to develop their own approach by transforming brief observations into key elements of their creative process. By reinterpreting familiar scenes, they will discover fresh perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of how to create motion in innovative ways. Participants will be tasked with finding interesting movements in their surroundings and filming them (a smartphone camera will suffice). Together, we’ll explore ways to direct our attention and isolate the motion aspects of these found movements, which we will then put to use. At the same time, we’ll work on identifying a graphic toolkit from the environment and bringing it to life with our motion discoveries. By the end of the workshop, we’ll have created a series of animated posters that will be showcased in the final exhibition.
