Brief description:
Participants will select a company they are interested in and conduct preliminary research on it. The workshop will begin with the development of a logo, and based on the brand concept, participants will create application designs such as letterheads and signs. Additionally, they will design promotional materials like product packaging and posters.
Biography:
Norito Shinmura, born in 1960 and raised in a fishing family as the eighth of eight siblings, Shinmura became fascinated with poster design after being inspired by a teacher who had just transferred to the school in fourth grade. He decided to become a designer. After working at Masanori Matsunaga Design Office and an advertising agency, he established his own design studio in 1995. He has designed for projects such as Shiseido, Muji, Sapporo Beer, SS Pharmaceuticals, Kadokawa Shoten, and Tokyo's bid for the Olympics. His design work has received numerous international awards, including the New Designer Award from the Japan Graphic Designers Association, the ADC Award from Tokyo ADC, a silver award from the New York ADC, and a gold award at the Brno International Biennial of Graphic Design. His works have been featured in important exhibitions at venues such as the GGG Gallery in Ginza, the Yamaguchi Prefectural Hagi Museum of Art, and the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen. He has also served as a judge for several international design awards, including the Japan Graphic Design Award, Tokyo ADC, GDC Awards, New York ADC, and London D&AD. In addition, he is a director of the Japan Graphic Designers Association and a member of Tokyo ADC.
